To conclude this website without reflecting on what this year has taught me would be incomplete.
Entering my fourth year, I already had a solid foundation built through active involvement in various university initiatives. From volunteering in community engagement programs and mentoring first-year students, to coordinating tours for the university choir and serving as a residence student assistant. These experiences taught me leadership, empathy, and adaptability. However, I approached this final year with a clear intention: to focus my full energy on deepening my academic and professional development.
While this meant turning down certain opportunities, the experiences gained within my degree were equally rewarding. I developed new technical skills, such as learning to operate a GoPro underwater. A task that required initiative, self-learning, and problem-solving. This process reinforced my confidence in adapting quickly to new tools and environments, and in trusting the learning journey, no matter how unfamiliar it may seem.
I also refined a skill I had previously learned — operating a drone camera. Applying this ability beyond the classroom setting allowed me to build confidence in real production contexts. Notably, our interactive video assignment introduced me to project management at a professional level, involving both client expectations and a production budget. This experience strengthened my ability to balance creativity with logistical planning and financial accountability, preparing me for the industry demands of media production.
Most importantly, this year deepened my understanding of collaboration. Every project reaffirmed the value of teamwork — the ability to rely on others, communicate effectively, and contribute meaningfully toward a shared vision.
This year has been transformative both technically and personally. It has solidified my readiness to enter the media and storytelling industry with confidence, professionalism, and a continued eagerness to learn and grow.
